Rev. Michael Allison offers remote Reiki and personally blended flower essences and aura sprays to Stuart, a gentle companion for anyone along the St. Lucie River seeking a calmer nervous system and more grounded, peaceful days.
Stuart, the Sailfish Capital of the World, wraps a charming historic downtown around the St. Lucie River and Martin County's protected waterways. Its riverside calm and small-town, outdoor-loving culture make it a natural setting for gentle, holistic self-care.
The House of Refuge at Gilbert's Bar has stood on Hutchinson Island since 1876, the last of ten built along this coast to shelter shipwrecked sailors until help arrived. Shelter is a fair word for a quiet hour. Sessions are held remotely, and blends are mixed in Michigan and posted to you.
Non-Native settlement began around 1870. The place was called Potsdam from 1893 to 1895 and then renamed Stuart for Homer Hine Stuart Jr., a landowner who held a hundred and sixty acres around the railway station. It incorporated as a town in 1914, when it was still in Palm Beach County, and was chartered as a city in 1925 and made the seat of the new Martin County. In 1957 the chamber of commerce pushed the town into formally adopting the slogan Sailfish Capital of the World. Downtown holds buildings from the 1880s to the 1940s in half a dozen styles.
