Springfield sits along the McKenzie River beside Eugene, with Willamalane parks, riverside bike paths, and quick access to old-growth forest. That closeness to moving water and green space gives residents a natural leaning toward mindful, nature-centered wellness.
Mill work built this town, and Main Street still carries that plain-spoken character alongside the downtown mural nodding to its most famous namesake cartoon. Sessions come to you rather than the other way around, which suits a household where the work week rarely looks the same twice. Attunement materials come as digital files you keep for good, waiting when the schedule opens.
Elias and Mary Briggs brought their family here in 1848, having come in over the Southern Route by Klamath Lake and up through the Rogue Valley, which was the hard way. Elias and Isaac Briggs cut a millrace and put up a grist mill and a sawmill between 1852 and 1854, working with a man named Driggs from Linn County, and the town grew out of those mills. Briggs also ran a ferry on the Willamette with William Stevens. The McKenzie comes in just above town, and on March 26, 1985 the city adopted the McKenzie drift boat as its official symbol, which tells you how much that river mattered here.
