Kutztown blends the youthful energy of Kutztown University with deep Pennsylvania Dutch roots celebrated each summer at the Kutztown Folk Festival, all set in Berks County farmland. That mix of creativity, heritage, and open country supports a naturally mindful, holistic outlook.
Crystal Cave sits a few miles of back road outside Kutztown, about what any ordinary errand around town costs in driving time. A remote session spends none of that, because the work travels instead of you. Aura sprays and flower essences are mixed in Michigan and sent out by post.
George Kutz bought a hundred and thirty acres on June 16, 1755, laid out plans for a town in 1779, and the borough was incorporated on April 7, 1815. The country around it was settled mostly by Germans out of the Palatinate, and the language they brought is still spoken here well enough that the town has its own name in it, Kutzeschteddel. The Kutztown Folk Festival has run every early July since 1950 and is built on Pennsylvania Dutch work rather than on a costume version of it. Kutztown University stands just outside the borough line.
